Who this is for

Use this if you want something taken down rather than fixed: an entire listing for a business you run, or a specific detail inside one. The detail case matters most for sole traders and home-based businesses, where a record compiled from open data or a company’s own website can end up publishing a personal mobile number or a home address as a business contact.

If the record should stay but is wrong, a correction is faster and keeps the listing useful: see corrections. If you want to manage the entry instead of removing it, use the “Claim this listing” link on the listing page.

How to send a request

Open the listing you want removed and use its “Suggest a correction” link. That form is the intake for removal requests as well as fixes: choose the field your request is about, write “removal request” and your reasons in the free-text box, and include your email address so an editor can confirm the outcome or ask who you are. If you cannot find the listing, search the directory for the business name.

You can also email [email protected] instead of using the form. Say which listing you mean and include enough detail for an editor to find it.

What to include

The exact page. The address of the listing, so the right record is found. A business name alone is ambiguous when several tree care companies share it.

What should go. The whole listing, or a specific detail (a phone number, an address, a photograph), and, where it applies, why it is personal rather than business information.

Your connection to it. Whether you are the owner, an employee, or the individual whose detail appears. Requests to delete someone else’s listing are not actioned on an anonymous say-so.

An email address. There is no way to confirm an outcome, or ask a clarifying question, without one.

What happens to the record

Requests are read by an editor away from the site; sending the form does not change the page by itself. A record can be edited to drop the disputed detail, or suppressed so it stops being published anywhere on the site, including search, category and location pages, structured data, and the sitemap. Because the site is published as static files, the change takes effect when the site is next rebuilt.

Not every request is granted. Accurate business contact information that the business itself publishes is generally kept, and a listing is not removed simply because its owner dislikes being listed alongside competitors or dislikes a review. No response time is promised here, and requests about a personal detail rather than a company record are handled first.

What removal here does not reach

This directory can only change what it publishes. Records are compiled from Overture Maps Places open data and from companies’ own published websites, so removing a listing here does not remove the underlying data from those sources, and it does not affect Google, other directories, or search engines’ caches. Where a listing shows a live Google Maps profile, that content is fetched from Google when the page opens and is never stored here, so it can only be changed through Google.
